Accessibility Compliance

Orbital Solutions designs and maintains our clients' websites. If you hit an accessibility barrier on one of those sites, your report goes straight to the people who can fix it — us.

In effect since

Which sites this policy covers

This policy applies to every website, online store, and application that Orbital Solutions built and still maintains under an active agreement. If you arrived here from another site's accessibility statement, that site is covered.

What we do not control: third-party content embedded in those sites — payment gateways, Shopify checkout, maps, videos, and social widgets. Report it anyway. We cannot change their code, but we can give you another way to finish what you were doing, and we can push the vendor.

The standard we build to

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the level most accessibility law points at, including ADA Title III and Section 508.

In practice, every site we ship has to:

  • Work end to end with a keyboard, with no focus traps
  • Hold text contrast at 4.5:1 or better (3:1 for large text)
  • Announce properly in screen readers, with real headings and landmarks
  • Label every form field and describe every error in words, not just color
  • Give alt text to images that carry information
  • Respect the system's reduced-motion preference
  • Keep touch targets at 44 × 44 pixels or larger

We are straight about this: full conformance is an ongoing target, not a certificate you hang once. Sites change, content gets added, and new barriers appear. That is why this page exists.

Report a barrier

Only the site, what happened, and how to reach you are required. Everything else helps, but do not let it stop you — an incomplete report beats no report.

The name or the address works. For example: Parkway Fitted, or parkwayfitted.com

Paste the address if you have it, or just describe it: “the checkout page”, “the contact form”.

In your own words. What you were trying to do, where you got stuck, and what you expected to happen.

Optional, but it is the single most useful thing for reproducing the problem. For example: NVDA on Chrome, VoiceOver on iPhone, keyboard only, screen magnification at 200%.

What do you need from us?

How to reach you

Optional

We use what you write here only to investigate and answer your report. We do not sell it or use it for marketing.

What happens after you report

  1. Right away You get a reference number by email. Keep it to follow up.
  2. Within 2 business days A real person — not an autoresponder — confirms we reproduced the problem, or asks you the questions we still need.
  3. Within 10 business days We tell you what we found and when the fix ships. If it will take longer, we say why and give you a date.
  4. When it ships We tell you, so you can confirm the fix actually works for you. If it does not, we keep going.

These deadlines are a commitment, not an estimate. If one passes without an answer, write to [email protected] and it reaches the owner of the company directly.

Getting the content another way

Fixing a site takes time. Needing the information does not wait. If a barrier stopped you from doing something concrete — buying, booking, reading a document, filling a form — say so and we will get it done another way while the fix is in progress.

At no charge, that includes:

  • Reading the content to you, or sending it as plain text, large print, or a format your screen reader handles
  • Completing a purchase or booking over the phone with you
  • Describing images, charts, or PDF documents that lack alt text
  • Helping you in Spanish or English, whichever you prefer

Formal complaints

If your report was not handled to your satisfaction, you can escalate it. A formal complaint is reviewed by someone other than whoever handled the original report, and gets a written response within 15 business days.

File a formal complaint through any of these:

This does not limit your rights. You can file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at any time, whether or not you escalated with us first. civilrights.justice.gov (external site, opens in a new tab)

Known limitations

Naming what does not conform yet is part of conforming. As of today, across the sites we maintain:

  • Older PDF documents uploaded by clients may not be tagged for screen readers. Ask us for the content in another format and we will provide it.
  • Shopify checkout and payment gateways are third-party and follow their own standards.
  • Embedded third-party video may lack captions when the video's owner did not supply them.
  • Content clients publish themselves — product photos, posts — can appear without alt text before our monthly review catches it.

For our clients

If Orbital Solutions maintains your site, this page covers your visitors. Link to it from your own accessibility statement and reports come to us, with your site name already filled in:

https://orbsol.net/wcag?site=Parkway%20Fitted

Add the site parameter with your business name. To pass the exact page too, append &url= with the address. We handle the rest: triage, the on-deadline response, the fix, and the written record in case you ever need to show diligence.
